 Terms and Conditions for the
AAUW Sarah Robinson Scholarship

The Oxford branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) has provided the funds for this scholarship in honor of long-time member Sarah Robinson.

AAUW’s mission is to advance equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, and research. Since its first meeting in 1881, AAUW has grown nationally to more than 100,000 members, 1,300 branches, and 500 college and university partners.

Recipients of this scholarship are selected by the Ole Miss Office of Financial Aid using the following criteria: Students must be upper classmen or in the Graduate School who have completed at least one year at the University of Mississippi, must be a Mississippi resident, female, and majoring in English, Education or the Masters in Fine Arts, with preference given to students who focus on creative writing or the teaching of reading skills. Academic Excellence and financial need must be demonstrated.

By accepting this award, the Office of Financial Aid will provide your contact information to AAUW. AAUW will send you an invitation to attend a meeting.

  • This scholarship is payable in equal installments between fall and spring semester.
  • Full-time enrollment each semester is required.
  • Independent Study classes (also known as correspondence courses or iStudy) can only be used to count towards the full-time enrollment requirement if they are semester-based – not Flex courses. In addition, the scholarship amount may be reduced if students are enrolled in iStudy classes ONLY that term.
  • Maximum eligibility is limited to two consecutive regular semesters (Fall and Spring only). This scholarship will not pay for winter intersession, summer intersession, or any other summer terms.
