Terms and Conditions for the
Imogene and William Cutcliff Memorial Scholarship for Family Members

This scholarship is available only to members of the 1st through the 5th generations removed from Imogene and William Cutcliff. Family eligibility shall cease after the last individual of this generation graduates – or on April 1, 2077, whichever comes first.

The scholarship will cover Fall and Spring semesters. Awards can only be made for other terms (such as Winter Intersession or summer sessions) if funds are available.

This scholarship is for tuition purposes only. If a potential scholarship recipient is receiving another scholarship designated for tuition, then this scholarship shall be reduced by the amount necessary to prevent the recipient from receiving more than 100% of the amount of tuition being charged the student.

The amount of the scholarship is based on state residency.

  • Mississippi residents are eligible for 100% of the amount of tuition.
  • Out-of-state students will receive 120% of the amount of tuition. The 20% that exceeds tuition will be awarded in a separate (2nd) scholarship that is targeted towards paying a portion of the non-resident fee. If the student is already receiving another scholarship designated for the non-resident fee, then this scholarship shall be reduced by the amount necessary to prevent the recipient from receiving more than 100% of the non-resident fee being charged to the student.

You must be degree-seeking.

Cutcliff family members may receive undergraduate scholarships, and up to four semesters of graduate/professional scholarships.

Eligibility for future years is conditional upon the designated Cutcliff Family Representative providing written notification of your intention to enroll. The list of all Cutcliff family members eligible for the scholarship must be presented to the Financial Aid Office by the first day of April for an upcoming academic year (Fall/Spring/Summer) to guarantee eligibility. Notification is required annually. If a Cutcliff family member notifies UM about their intention to enroll after April 1, that individual may or may not be able to receive scholarship funds, depending on availability of funds.

The University assumes no liability for incorrect information provided by the Family Representative, nor will the University have any responsibility to verify that individuals listed by the Family Representative are indeed qualifying Cutcliff family members. By accepting these Terms and Conditions, you agree that you qualify for this scholarship.

If you withdraw from the University within the 100% institutional refund period (the first 10 days of classes), any scholarship that has already credited to your bursar account must be repaid in full.
