Work-Study positions usually average 8-12 hours per week and pay $9.00 or $10.00 per hour, per that department’s discretion. Students who participate in the Family Literacy Program are paid $12 per hour and work an average of 12 hours per week (Family Literacy placements are NOT available in summer).
If you are interested in one of the positions listed below, please contact the supervisor for more information regarding the interview and hiring process. If you are hired, please request the Federal Work-Study Placement Sheet from the Office of Financial Aid (257 Martindale-Cole Student Services Center) and complete this form with your supervisor before returning it back to our office. Please note, if this is your first time to work on campus, you will also need to complete the onboarding process which is made available through the Human Resources/Student Employment Office. Family Literacy Tutor |
Job Qualifications |
Applicants must: 1) Be in good standing at Ole Miss and have a current FAFSA on file. 2) Have a minimum GPA of 2.5 (and maintain a 2.5 GPA to remain in the program). 3) Be willing to work around 10 hours per week and commit to working 3-4 hour blocks of time. 4) Have reliable transportation (it is preferred that students have their own automobiles). 5) Be willing to undergo a criminal background check. Please note: Education and/or Math majors are preferable, but applicants from any major will be considered. |
Job Responsibilities |
Serve the local community by tutoring students in grades K- 9th in reading and mathematics. Interested applicants must complete an application form which can be obtained at the front desk in the Office of Financial Aid (257 Martindale Student Services Center) and undergo an interview process. |
