Mississippi Community College Transfer Competitive Scholarships

We have had many generous donors over the years who have created scholarships to help students achieve their dreams through Ole Miss.  To be eligible for any scholarships listed below, you must have a minimum of transferable college credit hours (typically either 30 or 48; please see individual awards for specific requirements) and be transferring directly from a community college. Please note that the calculation of the transfer GPA will include the grades from all prior colleges attended. Select each section for additional details!

Lyceum Scholars Award

  • Award Amount: Full resident tuition for two years.
  • Eligibility:  Community College Transfer students with at least a 3.0 transfer GPA on at least 30 transferable college credit hours and an exemplary record of leadership and service.
  • How to Apply: Complete the Community College Transfer Scholarship Application.

Community College Leadership Scholarships
  • Award Amount:  $6,000 ($3,000 per year for two years)
  • Eligibility:  Community College Transfer students with at least a 3.0 transfer GPA on at least 30 transferable college credit hours and an exemplary record of leadership and service.

Mississippi Community College Advantage Scholarship

  • Award Amount: $10,000 ($5,000 per year)
  • Eligibility: Community College transfer students who are MS residents with at least 30 transferable college credit hours and at least a 2.5 or higher overall transfer GPA. Students must be eligible for a Federal Pell Grant and have a family adjusted gross income of $40,000 or less (as reported on the previous year’s Federal tax return.). This is a competitive scholarship and 25 awards are made each year.
  • How to Apply: To be considered for this scholarship, transfer students must have a completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on file (the priority date is March 1), Priority will be given to students who submit the online Community College Transfer Scholarship Application.

    • Luckyday University Scholarship
    • Award Amount: $12,000 (up to $6,000 per year)
    • Eligibility: These scholarships are awarded to a select group of 25 community college transfer students attending the Oxford campus with a 3.0 overall GPA on at least 48 transferable college credit hours. Student’s receiving this award must be resident of Mississippi and must be transferring from Mississippi community college. In addition, students selected must have remaining financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal student Aid (FAFSA) after other scholarships and grants have been awarded.
    • How to Apply: To be considered for this scholarship, transfer students must file the FAFSA by March 1 and complete the online Luckyday University Scholarship Application.

    Osher Reentry Scholarship
    • Award Amount: Up to $2,500 per year ($1,250/semester)
    • Eligibility: Students who are pursuing their first baccalaureate degree; have experienced a cumulative gap in their education of five or more years since High School graduation or attainment of GED; who are enrolled at least half-time, are US Citizens between 25 and 50 years old; and have demonstrated financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
    • How to Apply: Apply for admission to The University of Mississippi and complete online Osher Reentry Scholarship Application.
    • Deadline: July 1st to complete the OSHER REENTRY Scholarship Application and students must have a completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on file with the Office of Financial Aid. Priority date is June 1st.
