VISIT OR TALK TO US!

A University of Mississippi education is an exceptional investment in your future. But you may have questions. We want to help!

Here are some ways to consult us:

Call our Student Financial Service Help-Line 1-800-891-4596

  •    Phone advisors are available from 8 am to 5 pm Central Time, Monday – Friday.
  •    Be prepared to identify yourself and provide the following information: student’s full name, UM ID number, date of birth, and permanent address.

  Schedule an appointment (click here)

  •    You have the option of in-person, Zoom, or phone.
  •    Should you need to cancel, please call the 800 number to let us know. Thank you!

Come to our office in the Martindale-Cole Student Services Center, 2nd Floor

  •    The lobby is open 8 am – 4:30 pm, Monday – Friday.
  •    Why do we accept our last visitors at 4:30? We want to allow enough time to properly serve you. (Don’t worry, we are still working until at least 5 pm!)
  •    You must check in at the Front Desk.
  •    We must follow federal requirements designed to keep your information safe. That means:

    •    You must present valid and unexpired government issued identification (i.e. UM Student ID Card, Driver’s License, State Issued ID, Passport) to confirm your identity when inquiring about financial aid that is student-specific. (We are always happy to provide general information.)
    •    If unaccompanied by the student, parents must also be ready to provide the student’s full name, UM ID number, date of birth, and permanent address.
    •    Access beyond the lobby to interior offices will require escort by a Financial Aid staff member.

Here are some related matters:

  •    This privilege can be granted through your myOleMiss account.
  •    You should go to the “Student” tab, navigate to the “My Profile” application, and select the “Access for Relatives/Guardians” option.
  •    If, however, a parent is listed on the FAFSA or is the borrower of a Parent PLUS Loan, then they may receive information specific to those matters (only), even if not directly authorized.

Are there any special rules for email?

  •    You must use your go.olemiss.edu student email address when corresponding with us. That is how we authenticate you.
  •    Parents must use an email address that is listed on the FAFSA or the email address that was provided in the “Access for Relatives/Guardians” section of the myOleMiss portal. They must indicate the student UM ID number in the body of the message.
  •    If you will be responding to a message from the Financial Aid Office, please know that email is not considered secure for sensitive data. Instead, you should fax or mail any confidential materials. Listing the student name and UM ID number on all correspondence will ensure that we can identify it properly.
